Walks and Wags is a family-owned and operated pet care business whose passion is to enrich the lives of dogs in our area.

President and owner Cindie Carter says that affection, diet, exercise and socialization are essential to a dog having a great life, and that’s why Walks and Wags provides a high standard of service for dogs, such as daycare, lodging, training and grooming. Regardless of the services your pet receives, Carter and her team will identify your dogs’ unique characteristics and customize these services for your pet.

She says just like people, each dog has its own personality and the staff determines which “pack” your dog will be most comfortable and make the most friends. Lodging (overnight stay) includes daily play care and grooming before you pick up your furry friend.

Carter started Walks and Wags in 2005, when she and her family relocated to the area after Hurricane Katrina. She says the business has grown through higher standards of care, education and staff training.

“There are plenty of dogs in the sea,” Carter says. “I want my company to give 110 percent, so I try to anticipate our guests’ needs, greet them warmly and sincerely, and have a passion for excellence and an eye for detail and respect.”
