The Mobile Chamber is a private business organization with more than 1,700 members and the economic developer for the City of Mobile and Mobile County. The Mobile Chamber’s focus is to provide members with networking, marketing and professional development opportunities, expand jobs in the area, develop the local workforce, advocate legislative priorities and offer resources to help small businesses grow. A staple in the Mobile community since 1955, The Holiday is a women’s and children’s clothing boutique committed to “dressing the generations.” The store carries designer lines for women and children from newborn to 100. “Since taking ownership of the store, we have also begun carrying gifts and home accents as well as men’s accessories,” said Mary Lacey R. Zeiders, owner.
Zeiders and her staff stayed flexible to meet customers’ needs during the pandemic. She noticed that, quarantined or not, people continued to shop around the clock. She took the opportunity to overhaul the store’s website and create a more robust online presence with live Instagram events, and launched an Instagram account simply for sale items.
Zeiders urges shoppers not to wait to get the items you want. “Since the onset of COVID, the supply chains have been delayed, from the fabric to the garment production to the shipping, and we have not been able to do nearly as many reorders,” she said. “Now, more than ever, what we receive is it. So, if you see something you like, grab it, because things are going fast!”
