David Rodgers Earns Economic Developer Certification

The Mobile Chamber’s Vice President of Economic Development David Rodgers has earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The CEcD status is recognized globally, and it is the only certification program for economic developers in the United States. It is considered the most prestigious designation in the economic development profession.

“This certification is recognition of the tremendous professional growth David has achieved and is a great honor,” said Bradley Byrne, president and CEO of the Mobile Chamber. “This certification is a testament to the success of our organization. Mobile’s economic development efforts are in great hands behind David and his team.”

Rodgers’s CEcD designation denotes a mastery of skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to personal and professional growth. There are only around 1,100 certified economic developers in the world. To obtain his certification, Rodgers completed six courses through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in a variety of disciplines including real estate development, business retention and expansion, credit analysis, marketing and attraction, workforce, and managing economic development organizations.
