Key Priorities

Business Climate

We are committed to fostering Mobile’s economic growth by advocating for legislation that sustains and enhances our thriving business environment. With a strong foundation in industries like aerospace, maritime, and manufacturing, Mobile is primed for continued prosperity and investment.

Talent Development and Education

We are dedicated to strengthening Mobile’s workforce by creating a robust talent pipeline. Advocating for innovative collaboration with local schools, colleges, and businesses, we aim to expand access to quality education and career opportunities, reducing disparities and ensuring all residents can contribute to and benefit from the city’s growth.

Infrastructure

Our focus is on securing sustainable funding for infrastructure improvements that will elevate Mobile as a hub for innovation. Advocating for enhanced freight capacity, modernizing transportation systems, and expanding communication networks are critical to positioning Mobile as a leader in the Gulf Coast region’s economic future.

Thriving Community

We strive to make Mobile one of the most desirable places to live, work, and play. Advocating for world-class cultural and sporting events, supporting public health initiatives, and fostering equity and inclusion, we aim to build a vibrant, united community where everyone can thrive.

Forum Alabama

Forum Alabama events provide a unique opportunity to connect directly with Alabama’s top elected officials, including Senators, Representatives, the Governor, and the Lieutenant Governor. These forums serve as a vital platform for fostering open dialogue, addressing critical issues, and strengthening the relationship between government leaders and the communities they serve. By facilitating meaningful conversations, Forum Alabama ensures that citizens, businesses, and stakeholders can engage with decision-makers and actively participate in shaping Alabama’s future.

Leaders Exchange

For nearly 40 years, intercity visits have been a cornerstone of Mobile’s growth and innovation. These trips provide invaluable opportunities to learn best practices from other cities, gain fresh perspectives on challenges, and explore innovative solutions that can be tailored to Mobile’s unique needs. By fostering collaboration and idea-sharing, intercity visits help ensure that Mobile remains a forward-thinking community, leveraging the successes of others to drive progress and build a stronger, more vibrant city for generations to come.

Pork and Politics

The Pork and Politics event offers a dynamic platform for local, state, and federal officials running for office to engage directly with Mobile’s business and industry leaders. This unique gathering fosters meaningful dialogue, allowing candidates to share their vision and priorities while gaining insights into the needs of the business community. By bridging the gap between policymakers and industry stakeholders, Pork and Politics strengthens connections and encourages collaboration for a prosperous future.

State of the City and County

In what has become a must-attend event for Mobile’s business community, the annual State of the City and County sets the tone for municipal and county government as they set out to tackle the important issues that face our region. Featuring breakfast and networking, this 700-person event sets the stage for the mayor and the members of the Mobile County Commission to present the outlook for the coming year.

Champagne and Oysters

This cocktail reception provides a special opportunity for Mobile’s business community to network with key area elected officials, including Mobile City and County officials, members of the Mobile County legislative delegation, and southwest Alabama’s federal delegation. The reception is by invitation only to the Chamber’s board of directors, board of advisors, Partners for Growth investors, and the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee.
