Empowering Futures: Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy Named Mobile Chamber’s Small Business of the Month

Congratulations to the Mobile Chamber November Small Business of the Month: Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy!

At the heart of Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy’sstory is founder and owner Linetta Bell’s journey as an insurance adjuster. Having held roles in claims management, she became a go-to mentor for those aspiring to enter the field of adjusting. Recognizing a gap in accessible education and support, Bell conceived the idea of establishing a school.

Extensive research and meticulous program development marked the journey from concept to reality. Bell, drawing from personal experience, emphasized the importance of crafting a comprehensive curriculum. Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy officially took form on June 18th, 2020, and after months of dedicated work, the academy’s programs went live on December 7th, 2021.

Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy embraced a fully online approach. This flexibility allows students to commence their learning journey at any time and from anywhere with an internet connection. The curriculum spans the 40-hour state requirement for an all-lines license, enabling students to handle diverse claims within Alabama.

Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy’s courses are structured into six modules, each followed by a quiz to ensure a solid understanding before progressing. With a focus on success, Bell designed the course to permit unlimited attempts on module quizzes. As students advance, the practice and final exams present identical questions, fostering familiarity and confidence.

When asked about the academy’s proudest achievement, Bell highlighted the positive life changes witnessed among students. Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy has become a catalyst for empowerment, with single parents elevating their income, some reaching six figures. Bell underscored the ripple effect as successful graduates bring in family members, creating a chain of positive change.

Currently active in Alabama, Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy plans to launch in Texas in mid-January. Bell envisions activating new states every six to eight weeks in the new year, focusing on the Gulf Coast region, spanning from Texas to North Carolina.

To anyone looking at creating a better life for themselves, Bell shared a powerful message: “Don’t be afraid; you can do it.” Drawing from personal experience, she emphasized the transformative journey from a single struggling parent to a successful entrepreneur. The key, as highlighted, lies in believing in oneself.

Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy’s recognition as the November Small Business of the Month not only celebrates Linetta Bell’s success but also anticipates the continued growth and positive impact on individuals’ lives. As we applaud her achievements, we look forward to witnessing the ongoing contributions of Gulf Coast Adjusting Academy to the world of insurance adjusting and beyond.
