American WeatherStar - 2023 Mobile Chamber Small Business of the Year

American WeatherStar is named the Mobile Chamber 2023 Small Business of the Year.

“I’m so proud for the company and proud for my family. The emotions that I have for that team and the work that they put in every day, they mean the world to me,” said American WeatherStar President Brian O’Donnell. “To see that explosion of growth not only in top line revenue but in hiring the people and bringing on more team members, to allow us to continue to grow, and to have it all culminate today and for everybody in the company to get an award like this is amazing.”

The Mobile Chamber made the announcement at the Joint Board of Advisors and Board of Directors Summer Reception on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Applicants are evaluated by a committee and chosen based on five primary criteria: business operations and impact, financial position, innovation and entrepreneurship, customer service and market strategy, and community involvement.

American WeatherStar

With contracts in more than 35 states, American WeatherStar is a leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial roof restoration coating systems.

Their systems are proven to stop leaks, reduce energy costs, cool buildings and improve sustainability.

Brian O’Donnell started American WeatherStar in 2004.

Since moving to their new location in Irvington in 2020, their overall sales have doubled, and the number of employees has grown from 30 to more than 50.

In March 2023, they broke ground on a larger manufacturing facility and announced the purchase of a 5-acre lot next to their current property for future growth.

American WeatherStar stands out for its “FAST Academy”, a training program that provides commercial roofing professionals with a comprehensive overview of their fluid-applied roof restoration system. The program helps professionals expand and diversify their businesses.
