A message from Mobile Area Chamber President & CEO Bill Sisson:

Bill Sisson
Truly these are uncharted waters – at least in recent memory for all of us. The COVID-19 outbreak is changing minute-by-minute, and affecting every one of us. The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce remains in direct communication with our partners across the state and nation, as well as the City of Mobile, Mobile County, Small Business Administration and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to learn and share information and resources designed to keep you – our members – informed.
I want to take this moment to thank you for your investment in the Mobile Area Chamber. As you know we have made the difficult decision in recent days to postpone several of our events in an effort to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s effort to “flatten the curve” and not cause unnecessary burden on our already taxed healthcare system. Moving forward, we will be:
• Closing the Chamber building, 451 Government St., beginning Thursday, March 19 until at least Monday, April 6, to meetings and special events. At this time, staff has the option of working remotely or working from home.

• Our phones will be answered during regular business hours (M-F from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and staff will be available during this time to talk with you. Aside from in-person meetings and special events, we will remain fully-operational to support you.
• Providing updated information on our social media channels at least twice daily – morning and afternoon – on the latest information and news impacting business and industry, and along with it some tips and tools to help your employees during this time.
Please know if you need us – we are just a phone or email away. For a list of the Chamber staff, please click here: https://mobilechamber.com/about-us/chamber-staff/.
Recently I ran across a statement posted on Twitter that I believe surmises how many of us feel: “In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little.”
