In March this year, Arkema, located in north Mobile County on Highway 43 announced an expansion that will add 25 jobs to its current workforce of 100, investing more than $60 million in the project. With the company’s global headquarters located just outside Paris in Colombes, it made sense for several members of Team Mobile to meet with their company executives to thank them for their recent announcement, and discuss opportunities for future investment.
Representatives from the Alabama State Senate, City of Mobile, Mobile County, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the University of South Alabama were in attendance.
Everyone who attended would agree, the meeting exceeded their objectives.
In the U.S. there are 34 Arkema production sites, three research and development centers with 3,400 employees. In all, the North America operations does 32% of the company sales.
The meeting gave company officials to overview a product line they have developed called Kepstan PEKK, which will be made in Mobile. It is a polymer used in 3D printing and carbon fiber applications.
