Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Visits the Mobile Area Chamber

This morning, U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, at the request of Congressmen Bradley Byrne, visited the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, and spoke to a group of nearly 100 businesses executives and elected officials. Naturally the conversation focused on the I-10 Mobile River Bridge, with Foxx acknowledging the need for it to be built here.

“I am committed to support the I-10 bridge event without a six-year federal transportation bill,” he added.

Foxx believes there are “troubling trends” in transportation, most notably aging infrastructure, and increased congestion.

A special thanks to the sponsors for today’s event: Horizon Shipbuilding and Mobile Bay Gateway Partners.
