Business Headlines

 

The IRS posted the Small Business Virtual Tax Workshop to help small business owners. Available online 24/7, find eight video lessons for both new and experienced small business owners in areas such as: federal taxes, Schedule C and other business taxes, business use of your home, tax deposits and more.

Restaurants, caterers, taverns, bakeries and more are eligible for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). The program will provide qualifying businesses with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023. SBA will accept applications until funds are exhausted. Learn more here.

The U.S. Department of Transportation took initial steps to create an Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection program, and is encouraging small businesses that may be eligible for funding to begin preparing for the application process. The program will pay up to half of compensation costs for certain categories of employees, for up to six months.

 

In return, the business is required to make several commitments, including a commitment that it will not involuntarily furlough or lay off employees within that group during the same period. The maximum amount available for this program is $3 billion, 1 percent of which will be applied to program administration. Find more here.
