The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Junior League of Mobile, is seeking applicants for the 2019 Corporate Community Service Award.
Presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting, February 5, 2020, this prestigious award will have both a small and large business category. It is designed to reward member businesses who make employee volunteer efforts an important part of their corporate vision, policies and operations.
This year’s recipients will join the ranks of previous winners that include Crow Shields Bailey, Infirmary Health, Airbus Americas Engineering, Thompson Engineering, The SSI Group, Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, Alabama Orthopedic Clinic, Arkema Mobile, Makeda Nichols State Farm and Roberts Brothers. Previous winners are re-eligible after five years but should have demonstrated new volunteer initiatives in order to apply.
The award is given for volunteer efforts and initiatives within the 2018-2019 fiscal year. There will be two Corporate Community Service awards presented: Small Business division (100 or less employees) and a larger business division (greater than 100). The divisions will be judged individually.
The application process has been updated and streamlined. The application and all supporting documents (recommendation letters, photos, etc.) will be submitted electronically. If your company is not selected for this year’s award, applications are valid for 3 years and can be supplemented with new volunteer initiatives.
An application workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce offices located at 451 Government Street. Past winners will be present to walk through the application process and facilitate conversations on how to submit a winning application. All applicants are strongly encouraged to attend.
Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019. If you have any questions, please call Mallory Tyson at 251-431-8621.
