Help the Mobile Area Chamber meet our survey input goal for the Business View Weekly. We need to know if you find it valuable and a few other things. There is also an opportunity to be added to a drawing for four free ads in our eNews to be used in 2021. If we don’t have your input, take the survey here. It will take less than five minutes.

Member Appreciation Day starts at 4 p.m. today, on the Mobile Area Chamber’s front lawn. Gov. Kay Ivey today issued a new Safer Apart order that bridges the end of the mandatory mask order on Friday, April 9, and encourages masks through Wednesday, May 5. While there are no restrictions on businesses, it does encourage mask use for employees, customers and individuals in continuance with the CDC guidelines.

In other legislative news, after returning from a mid-session spring break without any COVID-19 outbreaks, legislators resumed their work. Last week, Ivey signed a bill ensuring all businesses and places of worship would remain open in the event of another statewide health emergency. This week, the legislation worked to legalize the delivery of alcohol with the bill expected to arrive to Ivey’s desk for her signature.

Today, Thursday, April 8, is the U.S. Chamber’s planned day of action against the PRO Act. The act, if approved by Congress, would eliminate states’ Right-to-Work laws and the secret ballot.  Find a 30-second video and how to email senators here.
